Clear, with a dull, pale gold colour in the glass. Faint copper hues on the rims and medium- viscosity. Med+ intensity on the nose, dominated by fennel, flint, and some citrus, with undertones of apple and peach. On the palate its off-dry with low acidity, a medium - slightly oily - body with some soft tannins, high alcohol, and a medium finish. Flavours of pineapple, fennel, and some aniseed going a little woody/flinty on the finish. Enjoyable at $18, but I'm not sure I'd have paid full price for this one.
