GMs - Aussie Classics: From magnum. Shoe polish, tomato leaf and cherry liqueur. Medium bodied, with the the tannins fully resolved. Fruit is starting to fade away slightly and this bottle felt on the downhill slope, but for tonight it was still nice.

Well, drunk from a magnum with quite a lot of ullage and a soaked cork that when pushed fell into the bottle so no high hopes here. But the miracle of slow oxidation was that the wine was more than sound. Great complex nose of a wine alive and healthy if elderly. In the mouth fresh small red berry fruit with patina of age but some acidity keeping the wine alive. Interesting how the wine could present with such tertiary aged character but at once fresh fruit character, chameleon like. Drank well over 2 hours with no diminution with airing. A great Survivor at 27 years of age. A great Coonawarra Cab and a privilege to drink. Under screwcap this may well have had indefinite lifespan.

A beautiful wine which has stood the test of time. Very little tannins and a strong taste of fruit this was a very pleasant wine. Unlikely to improve with further cellaring, would be best drink now.

- Brick color - Stood the test of time. Dark brooding stone fruits on the palate with a depth and finish not expected for its 23rd birthday. That beautiful cigar box oak aroma only time can provide. Potential for a few extra years in the cellar, but would certainly not hold it too much longer.

91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Shiraz. An aroma of tomato leaf dominates the nose, behind it are some notes of raspberry, blackberry and a touch of briar. The texture of the palate is good with elegant primary fruit characters and good balance. Drinking well now but will develop and improve over the next 10 years. Was not shamed in the presence of some of the great wines from around the world.
