  • Pure blackberries with a slight vanilla character. This wine is drinking well now. Overall, very pleasant.

Sehr samtig, gut balanciert, schöner, langer Abgang. Dazu noch griffige Tannine. Großartiger Wein mit großem Lagerpotenzial (10+). Sehr guter Speisebegleiter zu deftigen Fleischgerichten.

  • Tasting Meerlust wines with Wim Truter (Tryffelsvinet, Blasieholmen): 66 % cabernet sauvignon
    16 % Merlot
    12 % Cabernet Franc
    4 % Petit Verdot

Fantastic Cabernet nose - Classic deep nose with dark fruits and smoky oak. The acidity is very good, the fruit is there but this is a tannic monster right now. A lot of people at the tasting preferred this but I would say that the jury is still out whether or not the fruit will win over the tannins in the end - only buy this if you have a deep cellar and lots of patience, but very much recommended given that you get a high quality cellar worthy Bordeaux blend red for almost half the price of similar quality in the US or France. Recommended.

  • Ha - I should have read my earlier note where I suggested leaving it a few years before opening this…

39 years younger than the preceding bottle, and it shows. Purple colour. You have to sniff hard to get a lot from the nose - some earth, black fruits, a hint of spice. Decent fruit on the palate, with a slight bitterness in the middle, and a slight lactic note on the finish. This is a complete wine and good value right now but again - leave it for a year or two. I have two bottles left - hopefully I can avoid drinking them for a little while…

  • Was excited to try this Bordeaux blend but acidity is still waning and lacking much substance.
