Disappointing, considering the vintage and price. I think Oyster Bay, Seaside, and Firesteed would score higher in a blind tasting. The Drouhin had some interesting complexity, due in part to it's age. The flavor and finish were disappointing. As a food wine, however, it paired quite well with grilled salmon.

Disappointing, considering the vintage and price. Opened up a bit more the second night, but not much body there. Very drinkable. Beats the Magna Terra (Kool Aid), but I am scoring it the same, (85). I think Oyster Bay would beat the Drouhin, even though the Drouhin has more complexity.

A solid glimpse into the 05 s. Don't go drinking your 05s unless they are wines like these. Savingy-les-beaune is also sipping nicely. Classic and lean, plenty of acid left.

Lean and classically styled, more red than black fruit, with subtle spice. Still fairly firm and austere in the style of the vintage. I've now finished what I bought, but this wine will continue to drink well for at least 5 more years, prob longer.

(Joseph Drouhin Côte de Nuits Villages) Very simple, grapey, carbonic maceration nose; tart strawberry with some sweetness, good acid, a decent food wine; short-medium finish

Similar to another bottle from the same case opened in the fall, just more lean, slightly more angular, then finishing with a very slight bitter hint.
