  • This is a Chianti from Castello Banfi. I visited this winery multiple times throughout the years. It’s truly an amazing place. The wine is ruby red with the core not true to the rim due surprisingly due to the ageing in the bottle ( 2017) the viscosity is medium high due to the wine being a Superiore ( 13.5%abv). The nose is actually very interesting with a good complexity with red fruits ( cherry and strawberry ) but above all an harmonious complexity of dark chocolate and cedar. The palate confirms the nose with a medium body perfectly balanced with a good acidity and soft tannins. A medium persistence. A very good wine very enjoyable and to be paired with light meat dishes or cheeses ... o pasta in meat sauce .. a good Sangiovese. PM:90
