Deep ruby. Plenty dark berry fruits, some redcurrant too. Fine acidity. Smooth tannins. Very pleasant. Not over exciting though. Maybe needed more air, this was a last minute replacement.

Pink rim, bright ruby red center. Bright redcurrant, white flowers, and minerality. Despite 17 years of age, wine was pure, restraint, and youthful, and tertiary aromas like manure and chocolate only just starting to show. Long silky finish.
We paired with a bottle of 2005 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers. The Chevillon was much more advanced in development stage. Both outstanding.

Significant sediment settled on the bottle, dark ruby color with less bricking than expected; limited aromatics, some muskiness; medium bodied, high acid not adequately balanced with fruit, lacks persistence; finish is short. Consistent with my previous bottle. 85

Definitely not an uninteresting wine but a little tart. The Bouquet comes with some thyme, nutmeg and vanilla as well as dark cherries. The palate is quite demanding with slightly coarse tannins and tart acidity. Overall slightly off balance and missing some Charme. I’m not sure if further bottle age will smooth those edges to merit a higher score.

A tasty wine from it's opening. Nice streak of acidity though not too much for me. Nice flavors. Went perfectly with smoked pork loin with a little bbq sauce. A nice wine.
