  • Notes very similar to last time, except this time I am aware of alcoholic warmth that I missed previously. Just a but too much heat for the volume of fruit to make it a 90-pointer. Still, an interesting and enjoyable wine from an obscure appellation.

  • Dark ruby, fairly opaque. Pleasant but not particularly well-defined nose, perhaps cassis and vanilla. Low tannin, a touch of acidity, slightly rustic tannins - but not a huge amount of them. A lovely soft, warm, plummy mouthfeel, with an attractive hint of dark chocolate on the finish - I'm putting that down to the Cabernet/Syrah element. Fresh and very drinkable. Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah. 14%, cork.
