Consumed over two nights. What a fantastic cab franc... nose of dark black fruits, talc and hint of leaf... palate of dark black fruits, spice, finish of cranberry, pomegranate, and tremendous balance. The wine is called oublie because it was forgotten in its cask for a year (or longer) than the standard cuvee Madeline bottling. Yet, the oak is barely perceptible. At $70 CDN this is priced on the high side... but it is wildly exciting and I wouldn't balk at a Chinon of this quality!
