from a blend with an abnormally high (45)% of cab franc, this wine has a great nose of coffee (which becomes more prominent over time), cocoa, and tobacco leaf with some dark red fruits.
the wine is medium bodied with low-medium acid. not much in the way of tannins either. the finish is very clean and resolves itself well, even if it's not very persistent. updating as time goes by..

I suspect this is a little past its prime but still a very interesting and enjoyable bottle. Color slightly pale red, nose tobacco, leather, spice. palate mostly cabernet franc with a very long (30 second) finish.

this was spectacular; way above expectation. still darkish, great nose. cabernet franc to the fore. right at the apex i think. really lengthy finish. great velvety mouth feel, just a terrific wine.

Thanksgiving Dinner (Jeff McHugh's condo): Decanted 1 hour, mostly due to cork and sediment issues. Cork was wet halfway through, but no seepage. My first 20 year-old wine. Nose just blows my mind...very complex, with tobacco, red raspberry fruit, pencil lead, and a vegatal component I can't place. Complexity follows to the palate...huge flavor explosion! Earthy, with tobacco leaf, tomatoes (the vegetal component on the nose, I think), raspberries, pencil lead, just delicious! Finish goes on for a good minute, with flavors swimming all over my tongue. Tannins are very soft, and this is drinking very well. I feel that it is probably at the end of it's drinking window, but showing quite well tonight. An outstanding bottle of right bank Bordeaux!

Had at Morrell's Wine Bar in NY. Not the right situation for a detailed TN but this was quite lovely, I do recall noting a lot of complexity on the nose, with notes of tobacco, forest floor and spice. The palate was nicely balanced with definite elements of tomato juice. Good presence and finish. 92+
