Slow ox 30 min. Lovely floral nose with tea notes. The wine is medium bodied, relatively simple, showing lovely ripe black cherry, tea, and herbs. Nicely balanced. Finished a little short. Drinking at peak now.

2005 Volnay Premier Cru Tasting and Lunch (San Francisco): Light to medium ruby. Fragrant combination of ripe fruit, spice, and herbal tones. Ripe black cherry with a bit of citrus, rounder feel in the mouth, ripe tannins. This was the biggest wine of the flight. While not as finely honed or complex as several others, it impressed with its depth and concentration. It needs more time to move beyond its relatively primary phase and certainly has the underlying material to allow it to do so.

Popped and poured. Another delightful bottle of this. This shows sappy red cherry and raspberry flavors combined with a little spice and herbs. The wine is medium bodied, simple and straightforward and enjoyable. I would drink these soon as I think they are at peak now

Heavy burg style. Open creamy, black fruit nose (just a hint of violets) and spicy palate with good mid palate weight. Enjoyable but all in the group confused it for a Cote Rotie blind.
