2018 Kermit Lynch Vin de Pays de Vaucluse (Durban).
Excellent value. Delicious.
Medium-dark ruby color. Beautiful nose of Southern France: dried cherry with a touch of violets and herbs de Provence.
Medium to medium-full body (14.5% alc) with good flavor concentration and excellent balance. Soft finish.
Somm tip: This wine is made by the well-known KLWM property Domaine du Durban in the southern Rhone next Gigondas (on the slopes just underneath the Dentelles de Montmirail). Great producer. Excellent value wine. My bottle had tartrate crystals, which is good! A sign of natural winemaking. The Vaucluse is the same beautiful region (department) where Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras are made.

Mature and subtle nose of old leather, prune and plant musk. Chewy mouthfeel. Last few bottles from the case and it's a good time to drink up.

Interesting carbonic eucalyptus bomb that became simply bad on day two.

A bit "grapy" with date overtones, but still drinkable. Decent value for the price. floral overtones, very Rhone like

Blackberry and currant aromas. Nice fruit with a bit of silkyness. Tastes balanced with moderate alcohol. Label says 13% drink within 2 years
