Iberian dinner (Milford, CT): An interesting curio, but not particularly pleasurable. Some petrol and smoke on the nose, but the palate is a bit strange - a bit waxy and creamy, with faintly nutty notes accenting the ripe citrus fruit here, and low-ish acidity for a Riesling.

An interesting wine, that while still tasty, shows its age a bit. There seems to be a hint of oxidation, but not that off-putting... a bit like a Jura wine. In fact, this seems to be a cross between an Alsatian Riesling and a Jura white. Dried peaches, straw, citrus and saline notes. Dry and savory. This would perhaps have been more lively a few years ago, but it still provided some enjoyment.
