Sadly, I just waited too long. The fruit is diminished to level of a faint murmur. Although there were no apparent flaws from poor storage, there just wasn't any "there" there.

Given the low marks for this wine on CT, I did not hold out hope that this would be good. But it was in a nice 3 liter bottle, and what a better time to open three liters of 2005 Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux than on NYE with 9 friends. All I can say is that I was blown away at the quality of the aromatics in this wine. Just super classic aged Bordeaux. Super tertiary, with mushroom and truffle and damp earth. Tannics were a bit unbalanced on the palate, but that nose! I have a history of tasting thousands of Bordeaux wines at every level and this was an amazing surprise.

This has finally become an enjoyable wine to drink. Decant 2 1/2 hours and enjoy. Need to strain some sediment. Probably still good for 2-3 more years.

Needs a long decant. Best after several hours open. Throwing some sediment now.
