Maybe Morey's just not my thing. This is another grand cru that I might have pegged as a Sonoma wine for its dense, licorice-infused red-cherry fruit. It was more interesting when first opened, ripe but with an autumnal leafiness on the back end, with the fruit coming across as very compressed, like a coil waiting to pop. Hopefully when it does it will have a bit more to show.

Color - beautifully clear, candy apple red. Nose - classic Pinot - a very delicate floral perfume. Taste - subtle fruit, meat and mushroom flavors. Absolutely fantastic with Fleur d'Aunis cheese. The finish lasted forever. Don't let the light color decieve you, this is a serious wine. This wine is drinking well now and will continue to drink well for 5-10 more years.

Nose of blackberries and vanilla. Big and complex palate of earth, rosemary, tremendous spice. Lively mouth puckering tannins. A wonderful wine that is thick but remains elegant.
