  • Amazing this still has a little life.....sediment as others noted but I pulled this from my “likely dead” pile and was pleasantly surprised

  • This is a very delicate wine that has been lying in the cellar for approximately 15 years after a nice holiday trip to Bourgueil in 2002. It’s the last bottle we had left after buying a case at the property after a tour through the winery and the storage caves, where in the past they used to grow mushrooms. It has a beautiful light red color, and lots of sediment in the bottle, which requires some care when pouring it into the glasses. The smell is still quite fruity with red fruits and dried fruits, but it also has this nice perfume of roses, leather and olives. It’s light to medium bodied with high acidity. The tannins have almost entirely integrated within the wine. It’s very pleasant to drink, with a fabulous long finish. Overall a very good wine that brings back a lot of good memories.

  • Wonderful bottle of wine. Started off a bit funky, which i like. Plenty of horse! Nose offered tar, dark fruits, dried flowers and a hint of mint. It was the palate that i thought so elegant, fresh entry, with an explosion of flavour in the midpalate and an acidic lift and soft tannins on the long finish. Mulberries and rasberries, spice, tobacco and a touch of mint. Very happy to have picked this up at auction with three more for not very much.

  • The Embodiment of Memory (Bob's House - Alexandria, VA): After giving this a whiff, Yule whispered to me "definitely the most intense Druet yet". I agreed and thought its intensity and pitch were exciting characteristics. This had a darker profile too - subtle tar, some blackberry, subtle meat and richer tobacco spice along with rich cranberry and dried florals. Thought this was drinking incredibly well. Definitely my favorite Druet of the night.

  • Corked. Underneath seem to be lively, with good fruit
