Nailed this one as a Loiresque Chenin blanc. But vintagewise, I was nowhere near... About 50 years wrong :-)

    Amber.
Nez: rather unusual and not thoroughly pleasant in the beginning. Strange kind of petrochemical components over old vegetable soup? ...but the nose came around after a while. Waxy and pleasant with some petrochemical components remaining.
In the mouth, this is only 100% sheer pleasure. Nothing deters from it. It has that softness of mature Cb with strange yellow fruits. Lovely!!!

This wine was fantastic. A truly memorable event!

  • Cellartracker in the flesh with Stefan, Akiko, Mats and Tomas (Trattoria Peccorella, Ofuna, Japan): "Served blind.
Quite odd and stinky initially then honey, a little medicinal note, orange, dried orange and orange rind, then slight floral notes. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity, quite dried citrus fruit; grapefruit, orange, a little green apple, honey that slight medicinal note is here as well with slight residual sugar.
I went with Vouvray demi sec from the early 60's"
