  • At Rainer’s birthday dinner. No formal notes. Medium garnet colour, some sediment. Ripe red fruit, ripe strawberry, spices and smoky mineral notes, with supporting acidity and very good length. Medium-bodied and well-balanced. Plenty of life left.

  • The wine was medium garnet in colour and offered herbal notes, ripe red and dark fruit, ripe strawberry, tobacco, cigar box and pleasant spice as well as some VA on the nose and palate, with warming alcohol, fully resolved tannin and superb length. The fully mature, herb-driven wine was smooth and balanced, with good concentration, and very pleasant. It benefited from moderate aeration. A lovely bottle!
