Side by side with 2012 Mortet En Champs. Powerful, concentrated, not over-extracted. Sweet red fruit dominated. Very primary. Slightly spicy after two hours. Would be interesting to see how it evolves over time.

Wine is 14% alcohol. My earlier bottles were able to mask the high alcohol due to the freshness of the fruit. Now, as the wine ages a bit, it’s definitely on the hot side. Wonder if it is going to sleep?

Decanted. Consumed from hours 2-3, with no evolution in glass. Moderate aromas/flavors of dark cherries and earth. A tilt towards deep fruit flavors versus acidity. Moderate complexity. Drinkable now.

First from a case. Slight fizz at the beginning and deeply corked on the aftertaste. I’m baffled how high end producers can deliver such flawed wines in the 2018 vintage. Have they learned nothing about winery cleanliness, hygiene and cork selection over the last 2+ decades?

Popped and poured. Intensely darker color; roast meat and a touch of tar on the nose. A bit jammier than I recall from prior bottles.
