Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • "This is made from parcels of barrel-aged Gevrey-Chambertin, Santenay and Hautes-Cotes-de-Nuits Villages."

"Domaine Yves Girardin: Yves Girardin comes from a long line of Santenay growers and is brother to Vincent Girardin whose wines you may be familiar with. Yves’s son, Benoit, has recently joined him, becoming the 11th consecutive generation to grow vines in Santenay. Who better to call on for a parcel of Santenay to add richness and structure?

Domaine Geantet-Pansiot: The Geantet-Pansiot vineyard began life as a tiny seven acre plot in Gevrey-Chambertin run by husband-and-wife team Edmond Geantet and Bernadotte Pansiot. Today, it is looked after by their son Vincent, granddaughter Emilie and grandson Fabien. They make a variety of wines but are best-known for their Gevrey-Chambertin which we are delighted to have used.

A beautiful deep colour with aromas of spicy, ripe black fruits. On the palate, it’s both rich and elegant with fine, silky tannins and a stylish, long finish. Delicious with goose, duck or game."
