Holding up extremely well and tastes like a Merlot should taste. Plenty of black fruit, with definite herbal and floral undertones. Just the right amount of oak to add some richness, without giving an obvious wood flavor. I've had several of the B&H Merlots from this era and they've all been great.

And...boom goes the dynamite. Booming nose of cherry, chocolate, and allspice that exploded in the room. There's also a leather undertone that remnds me of a bordeaux. The palate is demse and rich with fantastic cherry and leather. I'm suprised how much leather there is...not typical for a les behrens wine. This wine is really well balanced and has a very nice finish with no heat intrusion. Oh so smooth. 2000 is now my favorite year for napa wnes. Most that I've had are filled with that great leather that I love. I never really noticed that it's global across the vintage until this bottle. If a b&h wine is also leathery, it must be global...

Rich, dark fruit, licorice, tar and anise. Smooth, ripe.

This is a hearty, palate grabbing, blockbuster version of Merlot on steroids but still with complexity almost balanced.
