Tour de France supper - Bordeaux (Alejandro's place, Mascot): Gooseberry over green apple, touch of cream and butter in support as well as a smidge of oak. Juicy, fleshy and fruit sweet; that gooseberry, though green, is not unripe. Touch of texture. Really lovely with French onion soup.

Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Ripe gooseberry, green apple, slight cream and butter, pretty though simple nose. Juicy, fleshy, fruit sweet and a reflection of the nose, a little textured grip, slight non-intrusive alcohol warmth, buttery notes, very slight apple skin bitterness, long, lovely.

Pale yellow colour. Mineral, wet pebble stony and animal aroma. Taste of peaches, honey with lemony and mineral notes. Medium acidity and body. Fine aftertaste. Nice well-balanced wine. 2,2 ha, about 4000 bottles.

Virtual tasting with Chateau Prieure Lichine (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Clean, fresh, a little butter, gooseberry and green apple. Juicy and rich on the palate, almost honeyed in fact with pleasing texture. The fruit a little muted on the palate as well as a touch of non-intrusive alcohol warmth and white pepper on the medium plus length finish.
