Nose is a bit shy without the berry explosion of the basic pinot and Liaison from the same vintage. This is clearly darker and more structured and medicinal with menthol, pine, iodine, and paintbox. Also more noticable tannins, even if they are still quite discreet. Good substande and depth and medium+ lenght.
Not quite delivering today. Give it more time.

I thought I had opened a 2018 Liaison, and was thinking it was the best vintage of that wine yet. The blood drained from my face when I saw the Buntsandstein script when I went to pour a new glass. This was my only bottle and it was opened several years too early. Tightly coiled and promising big things someday. I’m really bummed.
Opened a 2018 Liaison shortly thereafter for comparison, and while both are good, the Liaison is the more drinkable wine right now. Similar flavor profiles with the Bunts having a slightly more spicy and complex nose. Great acidity in both. There is more structure in this wine and it seems to close down after hour five. The bitterness on the aftertaste which is present in both wines is more pronounced in this one.

Darker than the Liaison. Intense, dark fruits with more pronounced tannins. Promising.

Bright tart berries. Still very tight - cellar this one for quite a few years.

First bottle of this. High hopes.

Quite tight at opening. Not as open as the Muschelkalk from the same vintage.
