  Decanted and began drinking immediately; was drinking well right away, and stayed on that plateau until the wine was gone (two hours). Smells good - fairly rich dark fruit and flowers, nice and fresh, with roast coffee, earth, and a bit of dried leaves/twigs. Similar flavors, tasty, with some depth and substance, good fresh acidity, and smooth fully resolved tannins. A fleeting hint of mignonette/VA, which works just fine. Not super complex, but certainly enjoyable and altogether a nice surprise. This seems to have aged well and I would have to guess is at peak or coming down from it quite gently.
