  • no other notes for this wine, and not a single other bottle listed in the entire CT! inventory. pushing 5 years since last taste. please read my TN from 06. yes, i have been hoarding them. our precious sarah is closer to twelve than eleven, but she's active, happy, healthy, just like this wine, which demonstrates an agelessness to it as well. i'm loathe to repeat this phrase, but...so burgundian! like i said, read my previous note, it's on the money, except now the spice factor, sage, and earth tones are emerging to compliment the fresh (still!) fruit. beautifully balanced. i admit i have some prejudice for the label and the history of the winemaker. nevertheless, this is stellar stuff. damn near the best domestic pinot i've ever tasted. drink or hold seemingly forever. delicious.

  • 13% alcohol. gilroy, california.

i have enjoyed this bottle immensely. lovely raspberry and black cherry fruit that presents itself totally in balance; the finish is long and penetrating. there is very little spice, and nothing to muck up the midpalate by being too earthy. just pure fruit doing it's thing. this is one of the best examples of this winery i have tried. i am savoring every bottle as my stash of pinot and chards dwindle. only 3 of these precious pinots left, which represent the original owner/ winemaker, marilyn sarah clarke. we named our current female doberman sarah, to honor our friendship and her wine. but, if i didn't truly like this, i wouldn't have posted. beautiful bottle as well.
