Opened at Zarzo in Eindhoven. P&P and enjoyed over a long meal.
Wow. WOTN, against some very stiff competition. The last time I had this vintage was a few years ago, and I feel like it's become even more open and expressive: the sweet, seductive Sangiovese nose just explodes upon opening; the palate is so silky smooth yet structured... Soldera really is a unicorn wine.
Will keep for a long time, but this is just so tempting now. Can't wait to try my next bottle, and as always a pleasure to share with A and the team.

Soldera vs Stella (Gemma): Popped at 12pm, slow ox in the bottle, drank about 8pm. Blinded. Slightly tainted, mushroom, earth, leather, good acidity, candied, game.

More Soldera magic. Enigmatic nectar, puts a smile on your face from the first whiff to the last sip. It has that aristocratic flair and dense red berry fruit which can best some of the finest Burgundies. It’s unbelievably polished and silky. Roses in full bloom, dried herbs, blood orange, ripe strawberry; bang on fantastic
Drank at event, no formal notes. From magnum. Showing well now but will be better in 5-10 years (especially in this format). Well balanced, elegant, gaining steam.

Walkaround tasting. From magnum. Fall roses and red cherry _ berry throughout. Not particularly powerful, but the picture of grace and elegance.
