Color is deep and intense - ruby bordering on purple. The nose has plummy fruit but with herbal/vegetal notes like basil and tomato leaf and a tinge of funk. On the palate, it's bright and juicy with medium body and that tinge of funk again (I dropped my plum in the dirt). All told, this comes off as a very honest, rustic wine. I probably wouldn't serve this to a wine novice and would try to pair it with food - though tonight it's serving me pretty well as an after work sipper.

color: medium purple; nose: lots of herbaceous barnyard on Day 1 (but mostly gone the next evening) and some medium black currant fruit; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, tastes more herbaceous than fruity with notes of wet leaf and mushrooms, moderate chalky tannins, medium-length finish; overall: savory Old World personality, a little rustic, at its best on Days 2 & 3, probably at its peak as of Autumn 2022, maybe pair with grilled burgers or choucroute?

Nose a brilliant mix of barnyard, mineral, floral violet notes, purple fruit- dark cherry, raspberry. Palate carries a bright acidity that lifts the fruit and keeps you going back for more. The Brett is there - giving a barnyard/bandaid note that borders on being a flaw - but with the intense fruit and lifted acidity and mineral intensity, it just comes off as a rustic, slightly "rogue-ish" bottle. I understand, quite fully, why the wine is controversial - it received decidedly mixed reviews between my spouse and me.

Still drinking well. Gaminess a bit more pronounced on opening but retreated later. Delicious mouthful but probably at its peak.

Inky purple. Barnyard nose with raspberry & bit floral. Not weighty in the mouth -- but meaty. Long finish.
