Drank 2017 and 2018 rattlesnake acres side by side. Both very enjoyable, and both paired great with salmon and burre blanc. Both are clearly VA, and exceptionally enjoyable. The 2017 oddly needs a little more air than the 2018. Like an hour. The 2018 is ready to go right away. Both have the VA nose that is a little barnyardy and then just great grapes. Grippy tannins both, the 2017 a little more. Earth, small berries, minerals, hay in both. The 2017 is more aggressive, the 2018 more approachable. Did I mention I enjoyed both immensely?
