  • Not blind, 3 lieux-dits cases, disg. 22, 21 and 15 side by side

I was a bit "disappointed". Not to understand me wrong, I liked all the wines and I'm a big fan of Anselme's wines but 18 bottles at one night are too much. Too powerful notwithstanding the acidic energy.

Every bottle was singing, no bottle was oxidized or corked but I hoped after the tasting to be able to distinguish the different sites and the different disgorgement dates. But in my opinion this is not possible.

You can identify Selosse (roasted pinenuts) easily but sometimes the 2015 disgorgement was the freshest, sometimes the expectable 2022. The sites to differ is maybe a touch easier. Especially the white ones from the red ones but even this is not for sure. I prefer the white ones. My favorite site didn't change after the tasting: It is Les Carelles followed surprisingly from the rare Chemin de Chalons.

I would love to drink the lieux dits as a single vintage. Maybe it would help more to detect the wine and disgorgement.

I preferred 5 out of 6 times the 2015 disg. They profit from 5-8 years of bottle aging IMO to get more settles and balanced.

But you feel the influence of his son. The champagnes are less oxidative and more accessible.

    My Top 3

    Les Carelles 15 disg
    Chemin de Chalons 15
    Les Carelles 22
