Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Budget Burgundian white. For a Burgundian white, this one was a bit more stinky than I'm used to. I actually think this one was a slight bit corked, but I pull back from that a bit ultimately because it did not worsen or improve with air time. The nose was robust Asian pear and wild lemon, brambly, medium bodied, pretty darn good acidic character that cut through poblano chicken like a ginsu knife. For the price, this one is pretty dang delicious but the weedy stinky character did catch me off guard a bit. Drink now....this one is made to pop and enjoy. Not sure if this one is really cut out for a CHICKEN dish (venison? Pâté? You bet!). But chicken poblano was probably not the most ideal choice.
