Drinking really nicely. It’s got that branchy style going. Not much fruit. Woodsy and earthy. Not really green though. Enjoyable and with plenty of life left.

Dark red color, black raspberry, black cherry, leather aromas (needs at least an hour of air and/or decant, rich fruit on palate laced with leather, tobacco, earth, no green pepper, slight acidity, tannins integrated, very smooth finish.

Drank blind, and added to last nite's tasting at Crabtree Loire as a surprise for all. I hadn't had this wine for years, and was very pleasantly surprised at how well it showed, as was everyone. My red WOTN by far, the wine was dark and inky in color, no real age showing in the decanter (was decanted at the table for appx 45 minutes, which was perfect). Lots of black fruit--sweet but not overly ripe, earth and leather on the nose. Medium to full bodied, excellent fruit level, sweet berries, soft tannins were mostly resolved, some green pepper and the usual woodsiness one gets from cab franc. Quite soft, elegant, great complexity and excellent length. No doubt the wine's 25% merlot makes a big difference here. A stellar wine, made even more remarkable by the fact that its from California and is 75% cab franc (not my fave grape or red wine region). Glad I have a few more of these babies...

(Pride Cabernet Franc) Cedar, herbs, raspberry, mint, cocoa powder, pretendica , lime and a slight touch of oak. Juicy, ripe, long and balanced. Lots of sweet berry fruit and some serious structure behind it. I liked this alot and it showed much better than it did one year ago. Much better put together. Great depth and the real deal fruit on the finish.
