PNP. Deep dark ruby color. Cassis, new leather, star jasmine, elemi (sweet cedar resin), and subtle vanilla frosting on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Soft tannins on the medium short finish.
This is a solid value, but wasn’t built to age. It likely peaked a year (or two) ago.

Quaffable porch pounder. Lots of fruit and baking spice. Had this at a Christmas party and no time to take detailed notes. See my prior review of this same bottle. For $30 or so, this is a good party wine.

Two hour slow ox. Deep dark purplish magenta color. Blackberry, blueberry pie, and subtle almond paste on the nose. Smooth, dry palate. Firm tannins on the medium long finish.
This is apparently a Merlot-dominated red blend, with some Syrah and PS. It’s a real porch pounder and the score gets a boost due to the low price point. I think I grabbed this for $27.50.

Not sure if bottle or palate or both might have been off so NR. It was ok, pleasant enough but somewhat unremarkable and perhaps more tannic vs. others’ impressions. 2 more to try so will hope for better results next time.
