A private dinner (Restaurant Nazka, Amsterdam, NL): Very light colour; light and supple and rounded, mild tannins, sweet raspberries, hint of sea breeze, juicy and elegant, good length. Perfect match for a kingfish ceviche.

Strawberries, grass, fermented flowers, and light plums on the nose. Delicate tart candy on the palate. Finish lingers like ripe bubbly strawberries and raspberries slowly evaporating.

This is a light red, almost a rose, with a fresh lingering taste hinting of strawberries. The tannins are soft and there is no oak as far as I can tell. The winemakers have teased a remarkable early-drinking finesse wine from some humble grapes. This is the total opposite of the many one-dimensional heavily oaked malbecs from Mendoza. One minor criticism of this one-year-old wine is that there is a large gap now between the cork and the top of the wine – it probably was bottled that way.
