12.6% served chilled at white wine temperature. Color is golden orange. Sour citrus (grapefruit?), a pleasing bitterness that reminds me of that quality in Italian wines that falls under the descriptor “amaro”. Saline finish with note of smoky caramel; low alcohol but a long finish. Very nice, would buy again.
2023/10/6 leftover was poured into a resealable glass fliptop bottle. Tastes even better now. Has put on some weight. Served at white wine temperature went well with charcuterie.

Angostura bitters on the most, round and deep on the palate with serious extraction and lactic tones. High acid. Nice wine. Would work well in a tasting menu I think. Not sure I want a bunch of it, whereas the 2019 really hit some high notes for me. Lots of vintage variability with this wine it seems

drank 2018 and 2019 side by side. 2019: 12%, kind of a cool herbal character, hints of crunchy red fruit but overall comes across as just on the wrong side of under-ripe. tannic and austere. 2018: 12.6%, gorgeous depth, nice balance of freshness and fruit and weird complexity that somehow comes together in the best way possible. as stated by another taster: I expected these to be weird, but instead they're fascinating.

This was great, although not as exciting as the last bottle.
