Double blind. Deep ruby color. Lovely bouquet shows cranberry, cherry, flower petals and just a touch of earth. Full and rich, with flavors of tart cherry dominating the palate, picking up orange and hints of spice as it breathes in the glass. Good balancing acidity. This seemed new world to me- the generous fruit of the vintage definitely shows, which isn’t a bad thing. This was drinking beautifully afer just a short time in the glass, punching well above it’s price point. (DR)

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with fading pinkish rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of cherries, raspberry and plum, floral notes of violet, mineral notes of earth, animal notes of meat, maturity note of mushroom and savoury. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, medium (-) body, with medium (-) intensity flavours of red fruit of cherries and raspberry, mineral notes of earth, maturity notes of mushroom, floral notes of violet. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Good quality Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits with a reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity, with nice red fruit, violet, earthy, meaty, plus a bit of mushroom and savoury development. The palate is balanced, with harmony of tannin and acidity, delicate in concentration with a decent length on the finish. It is ready to drink now and can further develop for another 1-2 years.
