55% Carignane, and 45% Mataro. 12.8% alc. vines planted in the 1920’s. Raspberry, cola, plums, and a slight lavender nose. Light soft wine that is very smooth. Follows nose with added cherry, over ripe raspberry and orange zest. Very unique style and just plain delicious.

Crimson in color. 13.% ABV. Equal parts Bechthold Vineyard Cinsault, Spenker Ranch Carignane and Kirschenmann Vineyard Zinfandel. Charming nose of red fruits, earth and flowers. Medium body with medium acidity. Crisp, fresh and easy to drink. Tart cherry, cranberry and earth on the palate. Super tasty and hard to beat for the price. Best over the next year or so.

Delightful really. Has some warm berry fruit, some crisp tart red fruit, spice and freshness. Plenty of length and depth of flavor too.
This certainly filled out since my last bottle that came across a bit lean. Reinforces my view that these reds improve a lot with a year or two extra after release.
