Even better than the last one, this is drinking very well indeed. Fresh aromas of cherry and blackberry before an ample, deep but fresh mouthful, slightly tinged with chocolate at first, but then settling into a well-rounded mixture of cherry and Christmas cake, with citrus fruits on the finish. Great stuff.

The last two were underwhelming so I didn't expect much. Quite a complex nose of red berries, chocolate and menthol, with a mouthful of soft, jammified red berries and cherry underlined by chocolate with a hint of mint, before a lifting finish with a flourish of citrus fruits. There is a slight lack of depth, as with so many 00s, but otherwise a very good wine.

A nose of vanilla and plums, plus some toast, then berries and spices. Much the same in the mouth, this has a nice lushness to it, filling the palate beautifully. It's a modern St.Emilion in that there's a lot of oak, but there's enough fruit to cope. Apart from a slight drying out of the finale, this is a very enjoyable wine. No hurry to drink up, excellent value.

Started brightly but ultimately rather stodgy, with a surprising amount of chocolate...
