A private dinner with friends (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): Sweet Condrieu! A rare bird nowadays, but until the 1960's most moelleux and demi-sec were very common in the AOC. So nice to be able to try this, and a good wine it is too. Harvested on 31 October, 12% ABV, 500ml bottle. Rich golden colour, deep and spicy and honeyed, passion fruit and flowers, peaches and apricots, medium sweet, liquorous (RS: 148 gr/l), firm acidity, mild bitters, luxurious but fresh, tropical fruit, excellent resonance and length.

Commanderie des Costes du Rhone - Xavier Gerard dinner (The University Club): From a mag which is funny since most sweets I think get bottled in smaller bottles, not bigger ones, than the main events. I was completely unaware of this wine. It's pretty and easy and honey and went quite well with an apple tart. Very light - even maybe more so than the dry wines. In a nice way - I don't like too much sweet and this was quite balanced.
