  I’ve had many vintages of this wine over the years and it remains one of my favorite value wines and the best $10 wine I can think of. The 2016 is very pleasing, with a “restrained” Modern style, i.e. very good fruit and extraction, but not excessive. Very nice acid backbone, soft tannins and spiciness. A great daily drinker.

  Tasted this wine on day 1. Dark ruby color. Black currant and pepper notes. Medium finish with a good pop of tannins. This wine is still a bit tight for my personal liking. I look forward to tasting this wine tomorrow to see if it has opened up more.
