  Clear dark garnet core with purple tinge at the rim. The nose is gorgeous with precise and correct aromas of black currant, licorice, pencil shavings, and forest floor. The palate is approachable yet structured with ripe purple fruit, ample supporting acidity, firm sweet tannins, and complicating earth tones. Certainly modern but much more balanced and complex than the typical example. Should evolve beautifully over the next ten years.
