Good Rioja. Decanted for 1-2 hours which made it better. Nose of cherries, leather, dill and herbs. Palate medium bodied and with red and black mouth coating fruit with pronounced but sweet tannins and long finish. Good QPR

PnP. Amazing notes emanating from the glass upon pouring - pure red fruits here with lots of dark cherries and some black currants. Good acidity on the palate, then more dark cherries, a hint of vanilla, a tad of oak on the ending with chalky tannins. Subdued secondary notes - some white pepper perhaps and a hint of tobacco. Fruit-driven but elegant and well-poised. A good surprise!

This is a well-made Rioja. We had it as the accompaniment to our Easter dinner. It is clearly young, and just barely into its drinking window, even after a 5-hour decant. I'll probably wait a couple of years before opening the next bottle.

at this stage, primarily dark fruit, good level of acidity and moderate finish to carry this through. tannins are on lower side, but enough backbone to make this an enjoyable wine.
tasted with pork shinetzel
