Mid to full garnet. Mellow sandlewood and cedar on the nose, some gentle red autumnal fruit and a pinch of tobacco. Harmonious on the attack, quite fresh, nicely classical and understated, long. A quietly satisfying and unshowy VCC that has shown similarly across almost a full case over the past 15 years. ****

Leathery, green, forest-y, mushroom soup on the nose. Lovely soft fruit lingering mid-palate and beyond. Medium-long finish. Tasted a lot like the 2012 which I sampled the same week – that green bouquet for sure that I am much more sensitive to than other tasters I was with (two different groups that week). Still, I really found this quite nice and kept coming back to it.

Not a perfect bottle (cork soaked) - not very aromatic but with air very rich merlot notes with some slightly drying tannins. Needs steak. Lovely red fruit though. Paired with rare Holstein chateaubriand and it shone, but seems fading. Drink up. 93pts

My 3rd time to taste this wine. Absolutely precious according to Cos65, some bricking with peony, redcurrant, hints of leather. Somewhat shortened finish. 2nd best bottle I’ve had of it. Not sure when the next one will come

Rich balanced. Black plum, cassis, espresso, Earl Grey tea. Very long, with a long future.
