Black fruit and cola, intense and savory with licorice undertones. Tannins soft though perhaps the wood sticks out a bit on the finish giving some drying tannins.

I don't get it. I usually love everything from this winery and the previous Cuvee Lola (a 2009 drunk 4 years ago) was fantastic. This was so restrained it reminded me of one of those sleeping Burgundies that you paid a lot for and got almost nothing in return. Nothing bad, but not much of anything else either. Very disappointing

No stuffy head this time... cherry up front, that same dusty and cottony core (like licking a t-shirt she says) with some herbal elements, complexity that's out of reach of my description, and a very long finish on acidity and tannin. Drank alongside a 2014 Thomas for maximum birthday decadence: this wine was darker, more of a conundrum flavor-wise, deeper and had slightly more texture. Both wines finished incredibly long, and were truly pleasures to drink.

Through a stuffy head: Dark fruit in front of a rich, silky, earth-and-linen core and finishing looooooong on good tannin and gentle acidity. YUM. Can't wait to make another run at this with clear sinuses.
