pretty classy CA chard; sweeter notes on the nose vs the Boillot we had side by side with this; fuller body; more fruit forward - pineapple, some apple - plenty of good acidic balance - not over oaked but very rounded and a good contrast to the white burg

A wonderfully herbal yellow fruited Heintz masterpiece. A crazy complex wine that is incredibly balanced between the yellow peach, Bartlett pear, kumquat, and white pepper on the finish. Quite a bit of acidity here throughout, showing quite a bit of youthfulness even still. Went very well with a rotisserie chicken salad with jalapeno herb dressing. These wines can last insanely long, so at a 2018 I would say if you don't want to drink this one now you could probably hold it up to a decade or so. As far as I'm concerned, why hold it if you have it to drink today? :-)

Decanted 30 minutes before service. In the glass, pale clear yellow. On the nose, honeysuckle, notions of tropical fruit, and a hint of smoke. On the palate, smooth, lean, and focused, with lemon, papaya, and oak on a crisp, moderately long finish.
