Wonderful Cabernet from Force Majeure. Loaded with blue and black fruits, a touch of saddle leather and distinct chocolate note. Super rich and flavorful with solid, sweetening-but-not-yet-ripe tannins. The finish goes on for over a minute with tobacco, spice and a nice, pliant mineral streak. The tannins are going to hang on for a few more years but when fully integrated, this wine will be a super knock-out. Elegant and opulent.

Four hour decant. Nearly opaque purple magenta. Pomegranate, black cherry, apple pie, basil, jasmine, poblano pepper, and orange peel on the complex nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Firm tannins on the longish finish.
I didn’t enjoy this as much as my last bottle (a couple of months ago). With that said, it continued to improve over two hours of drinking. This can easily handle an eight hour decant. Force Majeure is the best WA winery hands down IMHO. I know there will be pushback, but I’ve had the others you’ll say are better (Leonetti, Quilceda, Cayuse,…).
Opaque ruby magenta color. Viennese Sacher torte (chocolate cake, ganache, and subtle apricot jam), black cherry, black currant, unsweet whipped cream, and freeze dried raspberry on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying, full bodied palate, with satiny acidity. Firm, full, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
Very nice improvement over the past year. Still my favorite WA winery. Even in a somewhat poor vintage, they hardly miss a beat.

This wine is infantile, but it’s fantastic. Decanted about 90 minutes and enjoyed over 2 hours. Big tannic structure, and a finish that lasts about 2 minutes. Not near peak yet… but very enjoyable now. Will try to hold my other bottles…. But may be an impossible task.

Eight hour decant. Deep dark plummy magenta color. Blackberry, blueberry, thistle, juniper, pink peppercorn, butterscotch, and Gala apple on the simultaneously fruity and earthy nose. Super smooth and very dry palate, with fine, tongue coating acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
