Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 88.3 points

  • Medium gold in colour. An attractive if restrained nose of lanolin and lees. Soft, full, rounded palate, with some sweetness - or at least richness - but a dry, lemon sherbet finish. There's something in it that suggests the best Chenin Blancs I've tasted - from Savennieres and thereabouts - but ultimately it is good rather than great. 'Chenin Blanc 65%, Grenache Blanc 30%, Palomino 5%.' I think I would have preferred more Chenin and less bland Grenache in the blend. But that's just my mood tonight: other times I have rated it higher. Screwcap, 13.5%.
