After reading a few of the tasting notes here I am inclined to speculate that some may have gargled with bilge water before pouring (joking, or perhaps they just got a bad bottle, or they prefer something more extracted). This is an outstanding mountain cab. The nose is fragrant and floral. The palate features plenty of black fruit, with leather, licorice root, chocolate, and a tar-tinged note, all of which are supported with excellent freshness. Sage and other earthy elements join the fruit on the long finish.
This is at least a few years away from entering its window, and even a long decant won't quite get you there. Decanted for 6 hours, and still ungiving. Notes of tart blackberry and black currant are overrun by a herd of grippy tannins, with tar and faint herbal notes lingering on the puckery finish. All that's to say the potential is here.

Even without a decant it was approachable, but improved with a bit of air. Notes of blackberry, black plum, and cocoa.

A very drinkable wine today. I would drink now through the next few years. Lots of dark berries, light to med tannins. Cheers
