Just two months after the prior, this was lovely again (over three nights) but we agree with the note below — too young. We will try to remember to hold the remaining bottle.

Medium garnet colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with cranberry, red cherry, strawberry, forest floor, mushrooms, wet leaves, chocolate and cocoa. Medium (+) taste of red cherry, cranberry, forest floor, mushrooms, wet leaves, chocolate, cocoa, sweet leather and dried herbs. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with duck, mushrooms, pork or veal.

22 months after the prior: So lovely again. Although the wine is substantial, it’s beautifully in balance, with welcome acid backbone. And as the note below suggests, there is a lightness — and even elegance. Yet, it’s no wallflower. Very enjoyable over three nights.

Mørkerød rubin. Maskulin rødbærsfrukt med pen krydret pinotparfyme. Dyp på farge og nese.
Mørke modne kirsebær, mørke modne bringebær. Flott balanse. Syren backer den mørke frukten. Lette tanniner men som gir god nok struktur. Pinotkrydder.
Mer på den mørke enn på den røde siden. Vanligvis liker jeg det saftige, elegante røde best. Dette er imidlertid godt.
