Dark cola, smoky, very carbonic character. Crisp with a little tannic bite. Very fresh, the fruit is a little muddled though. Probably needs to spread a little more.

Sunday hangout (socially distanced) (Chicago, IL): "Gamay from massal selection - 28.50 ares vine - 2006 plantation - topsoil from sandy loams, Bajocian limestone base - breeding 9 months 228L barrels - bottling 18/07/19 - pH 3.30 - SO2 libre < 6 mg/L - total < 20 mg/L" In all honesty, if I knew this were gamay when I bought it, I wouldn't have. But having opened and tasted it, I'm glad I did. This is certainly worth a shot, especially for gamay haters like me. The nose is intensely red-fruited, with a bright profile and no carbonic flavours, though the same lightness. Underneath the fruit is an earthy, leafy streak. The palate doesn't have strong tones of sucralose (as most gamay tends to have for me), but there is fresh acidity and a really nice lightness. Not heavy but easy to drink. Quite good, though as one of the more expensive bottles in the Labet lineup, certainly not interesting for putting in the cellar.

Bright red berries on the nose, aroma leaping out of the glas. Really lively, good acidity, still a bit carbonic. Juicy, yet surprisingly elegant.
