The last of my original WineBerserkers order. Opened about 90 minutes prior to the first pour to allow this wine to air out. Much more of a rich purple color than your standard Pinot with sharp blue and red fruit aromas.
The 14.7% ABV figure is no joke, as this wine is more than medium-bodied with ample acidity and good grip from the tannins. Excellent concentration with notes of black currant, blackberry, cranberry, and sweet tobacco. Good length on the finish. It's important to note also that each glass is just a little better than the one before.
Similar to the Ariane, but to a slightly lesser extent, this wine will benefit from more cellar time. If you can't wait however, it's excellent now.
PnP and had with pasta and broccoli. Definitely needed some time to open up. The color was dark and rich, black cherry flavor with a somewhat full body with smooth tannins. Only complaint was that it may have tasted a bit "grapey" but all in all very solid and pleasant to drink. Would be a good sipper as well as pairing with food
Popped and poured. Deep purple core; notes of black cherry, pomegranate, raspberry, crushed stone. Medium to full bodied, extracted, good depth, excellent acidity which provides good structure and grip. Needs a few years in the cellar to integrate; will need to relocate from my wife’s “safe to drink” cellar and hide them away in mine! Should merit a higher rating with time.
