1.5 hour decant. Solid example of a stereotypical Napa Cabernet. Well made, but not quite exceptional, especially at the price point.
Nose is a simple but pleasant burst of black berry compote, cassis, and deep coffee and graphite notes from the abundant oak. Every thing you might expect but with good intensity. Not a whole lot else going on, and oak is certainly prominent enough to mask any more subtle nuances.
Palate is punchy and somewhat angular, but tasty, with powerful ripe tannin and mild to moderate acidity. Here again the oak is a touch too ample, lending a woody note to the finish.
Enjoyable, but there is far more value to be found in Napa if you dig in a bit more.

A well made wine that demostrates great concentration. Made in a fruit forward, slightly sweeter style indicating a later harvest and shorter fermentation. The color is red/ purple. The nose was subdued even after decanting. The palate was typical Napa, not much individual expression. The finish was medium in length.

Solid bottle, fairly strong tannins. We didn't decant ahead of time, but definitely should have. Nice fruit on both nose and taste. Substantial time ahead for this one, well into the 2030s.

Heavy handed on fruit ripeness and oak concentration. Its rich and decadent - almost a hyperbolic expression of Napa.
This needs a prime black angus ribeye to balance it out. Unfortunately I did not have it on hand so it was a bit much for me.
